Easy Google Adwords Keyword Tool Research For Newbies
81Twelve Easy Steps to using the Google AdWords Keyword Tool
Here's a quick, easy way for newbies to use the Google AdWords Keyword Tool while researching titles for new pages on the Internet. If you've found this confusing in the past, please read this page -- just follow these easy steps -- and you'll quickly, easily be on your way to doing keyword research with Google's AdWords keyword tool.
You'll be surprised how simple it is once you get used to it!
I've seen other pages that explain more at length, and decided to make this page super-simple for newbies to understand, so you can research your keywords and get started on your new webpages without having to understand all the definitions and options first.
Nothing complex about it!
1. Go to the Google AdWords Keyword Tool.
2. Put your idea-keyword in the "Word or phrase" box at the top.
3. Read the capcha graphic and type it in.
How to Research Keywords: Google AdWords Keyword Tool
Use the Advanced Options - it is Easy!
4. Click on "Advanced Options".
5. Go down to where it says "Filter keywords" and click on "Local Monthly Searches". Change that to "Global Monthly Searches". Put 500 in the third box on that line. You can play with the numbers; some people only want keywords with more than say, 3000 monthly searches. Try "Local Monthly Searches" if you want only traffic from your country.
6. Click on "+ Add another". Change "Local Monthly Searches" to "Competition". Click on "High" as this tells you what advertisers are willing to pay more for. This denotes competition between advertisers for the use of that keyword.
Change the Columns - Another Easy Step for Better Information
7. Go down to the line just below the "Search" button. At the far-right side of the screen there's a button that says, "Columns". Click on that.
8. Un-check "Local Search Trends" and "Local Monthly Searches." Check "Estimated Avg. CPC". Click on 'save'.
Analyze Your Keyword Tool Search Results
9. This is the big moment! Click on "Search".
10. Look at your search results.... and analyze them. Which ones have the most CPC (Cost Per Click) value? Which ones have the most competition? And which ones have the most global monthly searches?
11. Identify search terms that are perfect for the page you want to create.
12. Click on the keywords you'd like to use, and check the competition on the first page of the Google SERPs (search engine results pages). If there's too much competition you're unlikely to do well with this keyword, but if there's few people using the exact words, this might work well for you!
That's it!
That's all you need to know to get started using the Google AdWords Keyword Tool. You see how easy it is?
Before you make a new hub - be sure to use the HubPages search box to see how much on-site competition you have for that keyword. If there's already as many as two HubPages using that keyword, you're unlikely to do well with it at this site unless you do a lot of off-site backlinking work.
Don't be afraid to look for new options in the Google AdSense Keyword Tool. You'll find that others who wrote about it may be using different options than the ones I recommend. Find something that works best for you!
