About Me
I was born in Oakland, California in 1952, the second of four children. We lived in El Cerrito and the El Sobrante section of Richmond. When I left my parents, I moved to San Francisco for several years, living in the Richmond District, Haight Ashbury, Upper Ashbury, Mission District, and on Potrero Hill before I decided to move north to Redding.
In Redding, which is at the upper end of the Sacramento River Valley in far-northern California, I attended college and received a degree in Early Childhood Education at Shasta Community College. I moved south to Modesto, Merced, and Tulare County, being married and having children along the way. I also spent a winter in Tuolumne County near Sonora in the Sierra foothills.
All that time, I wanted to be a writer, but I was so busy it didn't happen in the way I wanted... save for a lot of journaling and letter writing.
After my divorce I worked for the Tulare County Department of Social Services as a welfare eligibility worker, and continually brainstomed ways to become a more productive writer. At that time I wrote a lot of songs, poems, newsletters, articles, and even a few short stories. I also attended college again and got a degree in paralegal studies at College of the Sequoias in Visalia, California.
Years later I moved north to the Klamath River Valley where I finally found the peace of mind to write novels. I've written about ten of them and have two ready to be published. I'm still debating with myself about publishing options: publishers vs. self-publishing. One of these days I'll get it straight.
Meanwhile I've learned that if I write online I can make enough money to support myself. I live in a cabin in the forest with my partner, Bob, two dogs and two cats. I spend my days writing for HubPages and for myself -- on my websites and blogs.
